The house is a three-bedroom semi-detached bungalow with a spacious loft conversion. Only this loft room is rented out. The owner lives downstairs in the rest of the house.
The studio apartment is self-contained, with only the front door and hallway being shared with the landlady.
The room runs the full width of the building and is light and airy with four Velux windows.
The Velux windows overlook the back garden and the fields beyond. The shared front door and hallway lead straight to the stairs.
The house has gas central heating throughout.
The room is comprised of:
1. A bedroom area with two single beds (which can be either left separate or be pushed together as a double bed).
2. A sitting area with a two-seater sofa, chairs, a wall mounted TV stand and a large work surface under the window.
3. A small kitchen area is set up in one corner of the living area. A fridge, with an ice box, a microwave, a mini cooker and a kettle are provided, along with some dishes and cutlery.
Lodgers will need to bring any additional appliances they want; i. e. toaster, pots and pans, TV, etc.
4. An en-suite shower and toilet. The shower is electrically heated.
There is more than adequate wardrobe and drawer space provided.
Lodgers are permitted to re-arrange the furniture as they wish.
For laundry: Use of the washer/dryer is by arrangement with the landlady. Up to three wash loads (one laundry basket full) per week are included in the rent. Additional loads will £5 per basket full.
There is a dedicated parking area off the driveway for the lodger's car. If required, the garage can be used to store a bike, or other bulky stuff.
Use of the large rear garden is welcomed for exercise, for enjoyment or for sitting out when the weather is suitable.
The house is within 15-20 minutes walking distance from Nantwich town centre and nearby supermarkets. Bus stops are within a ten-minute walk, with regular bus services to Crewe and Chester, and to other surrounding areas.
The town of Crewe, and its main rail station, is only about 4 miles away. Nantwich also has a rail station which is on the Crewe to Shrewsbury line.
Nearby there are dedicated cycleways into Crewe.
There are three doctors' surgeries at the Church View Primary Care Centre, and there is a county library, a museum, a number of churches and historic buildings, a market, night clubs, and a wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés in the town.
I am looking for a lodger, male or female, who lives an orderly lifestyle (i. e. no rowdy behaviour or parties that would disturb my neighbours). They could be students or professional people. I will also consider taking in couples, in which case there will be an additional £35 pw. (£152 pcm) to pay if the 2nd person stays longer than six months.
All bills (gas, electricity, water, TV, Wi-Fi and council tax) are included.
There is a discount for those who are exempt from paying Council Tax. Exemptions are granted for some students and for those who are paying Council Tax on another property that is their main home, i. e. for people who stay at my house mid-week to reduce commuting distances, but maintain their main residence elsewhere.
All applicants will need to provide ID and good references. Non-British citizens will need proof of residency permission. Credit and other checks may be required at my discretion.
