Lovely top floor room in Cromford, Derbyshire

Final (top floor) room in lovely 1770 three storey double fronted house in Cromford, Derbyshire (DE4 3QG). The house is fully renovated with double glazed sash windows, central heating etc.

Good sized bedroom with kingsize bed, recent memory foam mattress, small sofa and dining space for 2. Shared kitchen and bathroom, shared by only the two, with a cleaner every two weeks included for kitchen and bathroom.

Decor is new/almost new and both have new/almost new double bed memory foam mattresses. I had been planning to offer on Air BnB but decided that I’m just not around enough to run it as such.

The house is just off the Via Gellia overlooking an old mill dam at the edge of the village. I’ll set up a small garden sitting out area for you with outdoor furniture at the rear of the house for the good weather to come. I’m 250 yards from 3 pubs (Boat Inn is fantastic), and Scarthin books + vegan cafe is 150 yards away which is a total gem of a place. Close to the A6 to Derby and Leek, the routes to Manchester and M6, not far from Nottingham and Sheffield. There is street parking 20-50m From the house.

I’m looking for professionals, 25-55, preferably not working from home full time, purely based on the not inconsiderable cost of heating the place during the day as well as eve/night.

I’m Jonny, 53, former teacher and university lecturer and now an educational consultant. I’m away a lot staying with my partner in Ireland or working so I’m actually not often in. With this being really quite a large and expensive house to run and my children grown up and left this is a bit of a waste of money and too lovely a home to leave empty tbh.

I have a dog, Max, a lovely quiet and gentle ginger Laboradoodle. He’s getting on now and I’m not certain he’d get on with other dogs but im not ruling it out, if you do have a dog we could discuss and see what’s what I’m certainly not ruling it out, if you have a friendly, gentle and chilled dog it could even be the odd bit company for him.

I like to think I’m a nice easy person to get on with. I’m looking for someone to not make too much noise and respect the other lodgers. I’m fine with partners coming to stay etc.

It's potentially a long term availability but im just saying until September initially as theres a small possibility of my son needing to return to the uk around then who lives overseas. In this respect it would suit someone moving to the area that might or might not want to get their own place in due course etc?
