Hello

My name is Liz and I am a Primary School teacher. I live in a street just off the main road in Heavitree, Exeter in my 2 bedroomed house which I share with Burbank my friendly cat. I have been shielding at home and working remotely since March due to being asthmatic and diabetic so am happy to arrange a video call with interested people then a possible house visit if it looks like someone is a likely next lodger!

There are regular buses to the City Centre, University and Exeter Airport and it takes 3 minutes to walk to the nearest shops and about 15 to walk into town. The St Lukes Exeter University Campus is a 10 minute walk away. The house is situated near to the main road and the bus stop is 1 minute walk away.

I am looking for a lodger for my spare room as my most recent lodger has moved to Brixham to follow a job opportunity.

The room that is available is a furnished double room, with a single bed, wardrobe, desk, desk chair and plenty of storage. I am happy for couples to move in if they are happy to share a single bed! The rent for a couple would be slightly more to allow for additional bills. I'd be happy to discuss this if a couple was interested.

The rent is £400 a month if you are exempt from paying Council Tax or £425 a month if you do need to pay it. The rent includes, water, electricity, gas, TV Channels (100’s!) and high speed WiFi (126mb download average and above). The rent also includes a cleaner hoovering your room on a fortnightly basis. I ask for rent to be paid one month in advance and also for a £400 deposit which is paid into an account then returned when you leave unless you owe money or have damaged things. I always encourage new lodgers to take photos when they move in of the room so they have images to check if needed. I have never had any problems but feel it’s better to be open and honest which is why I suggest this. I also ask to see a passport or other photo ID and for a next of kin contact number just in case you are taken ill. (It’s happened to me and the university wasn’t able to give me the student’s family phone number when he was taken poorly so now ask just in case!)

I am a non smoker but smokers are welcome to smoke in the garden. You are welcome to use the kitchen equipment and pots, pans etc and all I ask is that you clean up after yourself.
I am friendly and laid back and ask that the people I share my home with treat it with care and are quiet after 11.00pm at night. In return, I am quiet when I get up for work at 6.30am!

The room is available from Saturday 1st August and if you are interested and would like to arrange a viewing please get in touch. I am happy to send photos of the room if you send me an email address.

My mobile number is on the advert below. (Please note I switch my phone off when I am teaching so feel free to leave a message or text and I will respond as soon as I am able to.)

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Liz
