Tavistock - sunny double room with storage

I have a sunny double bedroom to rent in my home in Tavistock from 10 May 2023.

The room has a good quality double bed in it plus a very large built in wardrobe with shelves and hanging space, as well as a dressing table and a desk. There’s a shared bathroom with a bath and shower over.

The house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac about 8 minutes walk from the centre of Tavistock and the bus station is only 6 minutes away.

Tavistock has everything you'll need in the way of day-to-day shopping i. e. banks, shops and restaurants, but if serious retail therapy is your thing there's an excellent bus service to Plymouth and it's only about 15 miles if you drive there.

The house is comfortable and well furnished and, in addition to a kitchen / diner, living room and guest cloakroom, there’s also a conservatory plus a lovely secluded garden out the back. The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine.

Ideally I would prefer to share with a mature person who is quiet, tidy and considerate because I work from home part time. I have a long-term lodger who works full-time and is very quiet, so we don’t want any party animals moving in.

I’m really sorry but I will not offer the room to anyone on housing benefit as I had a very bad experience a few years ago; neither do I want a sharer who is unemployed or working from home.

To avoid any misunderstanding, the room is available for single occupancy only and it’s a non-smoking house. You will be asked to provide recent traceable references from your current employer and past and present landlords and those references will be checked.

A £180 deposit will be payable before you move in and rent is payable monthly in advance.

Ideally I’d like to rent out the room for 2 months but I will consider a short-term let if you only need a room for a week, a few weeks or a month.
