A lady with good mobility but who has Parkinson’s and some memory problems is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

This person would primarily value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She is very independent and has been running her house herself, but would also like some general practical help around the home such help with shopping, cooking / helping to cook and sharing a few meals each week, help with cleaning/tidying/making the bed, carrying heavier items, friendly prompts and reminders, accompanying on occasional outings, and ad hoc other practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom with its own en-suite shower, plus shared use of the sitting room, kitchen and garden.

The property is in the pretty village or Upwey on the north edge of Weymouth. The closest station (Upwey) is 1.2 mils from the house (approx. 10 mins bus, or 20 mins walk), Weymouth is 25 mins by bus (or 15 mins in a car) and Dorchest is 20 mins bus ride away. There is car parking.

The lady enjoys reading the i newspaper, listening to Radio 4 and Classic FM, watching sport on TV (particularly football and athletics, going to church and occasionally doing a crossword or playing Scrabble.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests.
