Quiet and cosy furnished double room in family home.
We have a lovely furnished double room in our home to let from Sept (available til July or shorter lets of at least four months considered).
We live in a quiet terraced house five minutes walk from the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Queens Park and Kemptown Village. The seafront is nearby and we are on plenty of bus routes into town (1, 2, 7) as well as close to the number 23 route to university.
£620 pcm all bills inclusive (water, c. tax, gas, elec, wifi).
We’re looking for a friendly and independent person. I am easygoing with a good sense of humour and live with my six year old son, who is a bit of a chatterbox! We also share our home with two white cats. My son goes to the local school and I mostly work from home.
Your room is at the back of the ground floor with a window overlooking the small garden so feels cosy and secure. It is furnished in a relaxed mid century modern style with exposed floorboards. There is a small double bed with pocket sprung mattress and storage underneath, wardrobe, large desk, chair, mirror and a lamp.
We have a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. No microwave sorry. As the space is quite small we try to wash up straight away or stack the dishes neatly to the side to do in the morning (I usually do the latter to be honest!). We don’t eat meat and would prefer similar though this isn’t a dealbreaker.
Bathroom is upstairs and has a roll top bath and walk in shower.
You are also welcome to use the sunny living room to the front of the house, which has a small dining table, comfy sofa, large TV with freeview and log burner.
You should bear in mind that the house is not usually quite as tidy as it looks in the photos, which I took for Airbnb ;)
We are a fairly quiet household most of the time (once my son is in bed anyway!) and I am usually upstairs in bed reading at some point between 9pm or 10pm. Once a week or so we might have people over for dinner and stay up later on the red wine! Your friends are welcome too.
Parking restricted to residents permits only or pay at meter. Just about room for a bike in the secure back garden but you’d need to provide a cover.
Every other weekend my son’s father, who lives in Somerset, comes to stay in my son’s room to spend time with him without spending a fortune on hotels. We split up when my son was a baby. He is easy going and trustworthy and we have an amicable relationship.
Thanks for reading this far! I always think it’s best to give lots of info and then you’re more likely to get somebody who will be happy in the space. Please tell me a little about yourself in your reply and of course feel free to ask any questions.
