Large double & double+office in LGBTQ+ home

We are looking for two people to join us in a four bedroom house in the New England Quarter, just down from the taxi rank at Brighton Station, a minute’s walk to Sainsbury’s and Aldi, and the pubs, cafes and shops of North Laine just to the south.

The house is nicely decorated and the shared spaces are all furnished, and has a garden and roof terrace. There’s no smoking inside the house but we do smoke outside. There are several loos, so you’ll never get caught short.

You’ll be living with an early-50s gay man and mid-40s straight woman along with a small quiet dog who can be a bit silly but is lovely. We’d prefer a woman or gay man mid 30s or older as we think that would fit best with our household but that’s not set in stone.

ROOM 1 is a large double room (approximately 16’ x 7.5’ (4.8 x 2.3m)) on the second floor, furnished with a bed and possibly some other furniture.

ROOM 2 is a smaller double room on the first floor (floral duvet in the photos, 8.5’ x 8.5’ plus an alcove, 2.5 x 2.5m) but you also get a bright office/studio/library space (8’ x 7.5’, 2.4 x 2.2m) at one end of the open top floor lined with windows and adjacent to the roof terrace. Unfurnished but willing to sell bed and dresser. Could swap furniture between the bedrooms.

The tenancy would start on 1 April but there may be the possibility of moving into the large double a couple of weeks earlier (to be confirmed).

If your salary is below 21k or you are on benefits, the landlord will ask for a UK guarantor.
