I have a double room for rent (single occupancy) with a lovely view over the South Downs towards Lewes.
The house is an older property with lots of character and period features. It's kept tidy and clean and is relatively quiet, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day - although my home is on a reasonably busy road, the room I am looking to rent is at the rear of the property and is very quiet. It has a double bed, chest of drawers, mirror, large built-in wardrobe, desk, lamp, and a 30-inch flat-screen wall-mounted smart t. v (free sat) with Bluetooth headphones).
My home (council tax band 'C') is fully centrally heated, with occasional open fires lit in the lounge during the winter, which you are welcome to use, together with the main dining room. The bathroom, separate toilet, and kitchen are to be shared (along with the cleaning of ! :))
Free broadband is available in all rooms and plenty of electrical sockets - my last housemate worked remotely from home. She paid a little more to cover the extra electricity used and I cannot see a reason why this would not be possible again if needed.
There is a large garden, which you are welcome to enjoy (and tend if you have the urge), at the end of which there is parking. available for one car.
I have really enjoyed sharing my home these past 18 months with my last housemate. Apart from the consideration and respect, we showed each other, we both shared an interest in minimal plastic usage and recycling, which I am definitely looking to continue. We also made time within our busy lives to occasionally share a walk, glass of wine, pizza, crossword, and when life allowed the odd game of badminton.
Like most people, I appreciate a degree of personal space, but I cannot share my home with someone who is not interested in interacting at all, so please bare that in mind, also when I ask for non-smoking applicants only, it really does mean that.
I have requested a preference for a female housemate because historically it always proved to be a more positive experience - the previous tenant is happy to chat to potential lodgers about her stay with me.
If after reading the above you feel this house share may suit your needs, and vice versa, you are welcome to email me -
Please include a little about yourself, your professional details, the reason for wanting to move, and how long you are looking to stay. If I think you are suitable I will suggest meeting for a chat prior to viewing.
Many thanks for reading the above, and looking through the preferences.
I look forward to hearing from you.
