Spacious double bedroom (former master bedroom) in 5 bed detached house. Furnished with double bed, wardrobe, desk and a chair, chest of draws, bedside table and a small bookcase. Use of separate study is possible, if needed.

Full use of the family bathroom (only used by one member of the family when she comes home from Uni on holidays), the kitchen and the garden.

Plenty of parking and storage space, including space for a bike in the garage. Wireless broadband. Bills are included, except landline phone. Short distance to the University of Essex (10 minutes by bike, 5 minutes by car, approx 20-25 minutes walking), 30 minutes walk / 10 minutes bike ride to Wivenhoe station (1 hr commute to London, Liverpool St Station).

We are live-in landlords, both me and my husband professionals working full-time at the University for over 20 years and are renting this room to pay our daughters' accommodation while they are completing their degrees. We also have a small dog (Border terrier) who is happy to see new people - it is very important that you get along with him. We work in hybrid pattern (office/home), like to watch movies and serials, cook , listen to Bach and going to theatre.

The house is in quiet location, spacious and tidy, and we prefer to keep it this way. Would suit professional or a student for a peaceful place to study. Our previous lodgers stayed with us for 4 years while completing their degree and working after they graduated. We were all together during COVID and they became like family to us - they are happy for you to contact them for references.

The price for a couple is £700, in this case additional living/working/storage space is offered.
