Hi! We're looking for a lodger to come and live in our house in Adamsdown.

*Us*
We are Laura and Alex, owners of the house, and our friend Gareth, all aged 34. Our other housemate lived with us for 2 years but is now moving to Spain.

We’re all leftie environmentally conscious vegan / veggie types and we are LGBTQ+ or allies so looking for someone with the same values. Most importantly we want someone we get on with and feel at home with.

We are a chilled and quiet household, and especially over the past few years we have all had different schedules so haven’t been spending much communal time together. It’d be nice to change this and to do more cooking and eating together.

*Rent*
£380 per month which includes all utilities, council tax and wifi. No deposit or contract, but we can make up a contract if you’d prefer.

*Accessibility*
The house is a maisonette consisting of the 1st and 2nd floors of a large period property, there is a set of stairs from ground level to access the property, and also stairs within the property.

*The house*
The room we’re renting is on the 1st floor, along with a living room, a study/craft/junk room, a kitchen diner and a bathroom with a corner bath and shower. The second floor in the loft has two double bedrooms, and a second bathroom with another bath (under a skylight - it’s lush).

The back garden is accessed down the fire escape off the kitchen, and is shared with our downstairs neighbour who has a dog.
We try to grow vegetables and herbs, and the garden is a beautiful space in the the spring and summer, especially now we’ve got a pond, and a ‘sun deck’ on top of the shed!

We bought the house 6 years ago and have enjoyed renovating and decorating it, which is an ongoing process! Our style is pretty loud and cluttered, so it’s not to everyone's taste. We try to keep the house fairly tidy but are prone to explosions of ‘stuff’ when we’re working on a project or returning from a trip. If you like a meticulously clean and tidy space then we are not for you.

*The room*
The room is a good size (roughly 11x11.5ft) with a big north east facing window. It is fully furnished with a double bed and mattress, a comfy chair, drawers, storage trunk, and has shelves and clothes rail installed either side of the fireplace. You are very welcome to paint and decorate the room however you like (we have lots of paint and all the tools) and make as many holes in the walls as you please.

*Location*
We're 5 minutes walk from Lidl and Clifton Street, and less than 10 minutes walk to queen street station end of town.

Adamsdown Square is lined with beautiful big lime trees and has a small park in the middle. There isn't much passing road traffic so it's usually very quiet but we are quite close to the train track so that balances it out!
There's always parking space on the street and you can buy a resident parking permit for £7.50 I think. There’s very limited bike storage in the entrance hall so if you have a bike you may need to lock it outside.
