Homeshare Gloucestershire connects people looking for some company and practical support within the home (Householders) with those who would appreciate entering into homely accommodation at affordable rates (Sharers).

The Opportunity:

To share a home with a friendly and independent older lady, who enjoys reading, listening to classical music, crossword puzzles and languages. The Sharer would ideally be a well educated, mature, friendly, positive and tidy person with an interest in gardening, music, who would enjoy cooking and sharing a few meals every week. Due to the location, own transport is essential. The Sharer would be expected to be in the property a minimum of three evenings per week as well as sleeping in the property every night. You’d have one day ‘off’ per week, as well as being able to go away every other weekend (if you wish). You can take up to five weeks of holiday/year (pro-rata).

The House:

The house is located in Minchinhampton, very close to the Common and within walking distance of shops, cafe and post office. A large double bedrooom with own bathroom is available for the right person, with shared use of the lounge, kitchen and garden. There is good internet connectivity at the property.

The Homeshare Agreement:

You would pay a monthly facilitation fee to Homeshare Gloucestershire for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do not pay any rent to the Householder, but will be required to make a small monthly contribution to council tax (25%) and household bills.

As part of this low cost living arrangement, you would give around 7.5 hours of your time each week in lieu of rent. On an average week, you'd spend the 7.5 hours cooking and sharing some meals, as well as providing some company to the Householder.
