Low cost accommodation in Uley, Dursley GL11

A friendly, educated and ‘with it’ elderly gentleman is seeking a Sharer for their home to give him a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone else living in the home. He is well supported in the home and able to do a lot himself, but would also like some light general practical help around the home such as picking up some shopping, cooking (for or with) and sharing a few meals each week, there is a cleaner but helping to keep the home clean and tidy, occasionally walking the dog, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a bright and spacious, furnished double room with a bathroom (bath and shower) primarily for the Sharers own use (except when the gentleman’s family come to stay for a few days) and shared use of the kitchen and sitting room and garden. There is also a small art studio.

The property is in the village of Uley in Gloucestershire, 20 minutes’ drive to Stroud and 40 minutes’ drive to Bristol. The village has a pub, arts centre and café.

The gentleman is artistic and use to paint and sculpt. He is practical, still drives and takes his friendly, gentle dog for walks. He also watched TV (the news, films etc), reads and listens to podcasts.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
