New Malden Train station is 5-8 mins walk away, and it takes only 20 mins to London Waterloo or Vauxhall, and train is available in every 10-15 mins and it run from 5 am upto midnight.

The flat is just round the corner from New Malden town center and many direct buses to near by town like Wimbledon, Tooting, Kingston, Sutton, Cheam, Tolworth, Surbiton, Mitcham,
Croydon etc. Including a 24 hour Heathrow express bus (SL7) and night bus (N86) to/from London West End, its running from midnight up until the train service is back. So you will have no trouble getting home anytime in the day.

For driving, A3 is round the corner, and have easy access to M25 in 10 mins.
