Studio Apartment at Vita Student, Richmond House

Located in the heart of Southampton’s city centre, Richmond House is only minutes away from the beautiful quay at Ocean Village, the bustling shops in West Quay Shopping Centre, and the tranquillity of all the surrounding parks.

It is also only a 10 minute walk to Solent university and a short bus journey to the University of Southampton.

I’m looking for someone to take over my contract for the next academic year (2020 to 2021), I made the decision to not stay at Richmond House for the second year, as I booked this room in October 2020 when booking opened, however since then, I have made friends with people from my university course who have offered me a space in a shared flat instead.

As I stayed at Richmond House this year, and rebooked so early on, it meant that I was able to get a 3% discount of the price of the room. For a 51 week contract the room will cost around £150 per week, however, you can also decide to have a 44 week contract if that better suits your needs. The contract begins on the 12th of September 2020, and the end of the contract obviously depends on whether you decide to have a 44 week or a 51 week contract.

The room I have is cheaper than any other rooms Vita Student currently have available in the building, due to these rooms having such a high demand. The room is a Classic Deluxe and is on the second floor of the building, giving you a beautiful view of the sky over part of the marina.

The room itself includes:
- A personal kitchen
- An en-suite bathroom
- Two desks
- Two chairs
- A double bed with storage beneath it
- A wardrobe and enclosed shelving space
- A large flat screen smart tv on the wall

All bills, including your wifi, are included in your rent, as well as a fortnightly clean of your whole studio. Vita Student at Richmond House also provides residents with a free breakfast Monday to Friday, which has a different menu each day to ensure those who are living there are always excited about what’s on offer. There is also a tea, hot chocolate and coffee machine which use have constant access to.

Richmond House also has a fantastic range of communal areas including a free cinema room, free communal kitchen, free 24 hour gym with a free personal trainer, two free study rooms, a laundry room, free access to hire bikes on site, and loads of space where you are able to sit and see friends or study. They also have tv’s where you can watch Netflix, a ping pong table, a foosball table, a PS4 and Xbox scattered around the communal areas for you to use whenever you want, all completely free to you.

In addition to this, there is 24 hour security on the front desk at all times, with friendly and helpful staff available to assist you with any needs or queries you may have.

Also free for you to attend, is a range of fantastic daily events. Some of the best events we had this year include a cheese and wine night, a Body Shop Event, and cocktail making classes. As well as extravagant parties such as The Garden Party, which happen throughout the year to celebrate events such as moving in, Christmas, and the end of the academic year.

You are also able to have a dual occupancy with the room I have, if this will accommodate your needs better.

I would highly recommend Vita Student to anyone looking to stay in halls. I have made lifelong friends from meeting people at the events, who I would’ve otherwise never had the chance to meet. What’s more the quality of the rooms and communal areas are incredible, with that and the lovely staff, it really makes it a relaxing place to live and study.
