Double Room in Tywford- 10 min walk to station

Available from early/mid Jan onwards - need to update the photos! Date can be flexible but current lodger is expecting to move out by the end of the year (I am away 10-16 Jan). Can be flexible on price for the right fit, although for sub 6 month lets typically charge a bit more.

A good size double room available in central Twyford, a 5 min drive to Winchester and about 10 minute walk to Shawford station for trains to Winchester, Southampton etc and bus routes. Just over an hour on the train to London Waterloo.

Parking available on street (no permits). There are also a few self storage places nearby if needed (one literally 5 min drive).

£695pm - includes all bills (within fair usage and council tax band d) and £500 deposit with references/guarantor. Can be flexible and will consider short term lets of any length, as well as long and rolling. Just ask for a bit of notice of any changes.


Fine for 7 or 5 day etc and can adjust price to reflect.
Please note - I work from home with two dogs (so need to be comfortable with dogs - they are very friendly). Although I am often in London though for meetings 1-2 days a week so have a walker or am only out a few hours.
Ideally looking for someone who doesn’t mind being in with the dogs when I’m out if they’re around!


I am also in Cardiff every so often for a week or so so you’ll have the place to yourself then.
I would prefer someone who has a similar work pattern but will consider all types and students are generally fine too (seeing as I spent 10 years at uni I'm not one to judge!). Working from home is fine too (existing/prior lodger worked from home 3-5 days a week).

The house has a separate lounge, and large open plan kitchen/dining/seating area with a downstairs toilet. There is a good size garden too. One large shared bathroom.

Room available will be furnished - I will source any additional room furniture as required.

No smoking inside / couples / visitors (without consent - relaxed on this - just want to know).

About me: I am originally from Cardiff but moved to the Winchester area to be closer to London for work.

I have had lodgers for about 2-3 years now and have been a lodger myself so understand both sides. I can provide a references from prior lodgers I had when I lived in Cardiff if required. My elderly mother will probably visit once in a while and I will likely be in Cardiff a week or so a month.

Currently work in finance for a number of years, having completed a science PhD and masters many years ago and briefly worked in environmental consultancy and a former 'semi-pro' ice hockey netminder.

Some interests are along the lines of: being active (jogging, gym, hiking, dog walks etc), history (I'm a big reader), various other boring things like NT houses, historic sites, football (follow Wales) and a keen (but not very good) gardener. Read a lot so stacks of books and some more nerdy interests around movies and gaming etc.
