Only a moments’ walk to the buzzing high street, Cockfosters Road, with its many shops and cafés, and only five minutes’ walk to Cockfosters tube station (Piccadilly line - 30 minutes in to central London).

We are very happy to offer this lovely opportunity to live affordably and comfortably in the heart of Cockfosters, in return for providing some practical support and companionship to an older lady.

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match our older homeowner with a younger female sharer, who is happy to provide some companionship, and the reassurance and feeling of security that someone else is there at night.

Our homeowner, who is 90, is still quite active and independent. She is still driving and will pop out during the day to the shops or to see her family who live locally, and she cooks for herself every evening.

However, she finds it hard spending so much time alone at home, particularly in the evenings, and having become widowed a year ago after 70 years, she misses having the companionship of someone else at home to talk to, share an occasional meal or watch television with.

The ideal Sharer for this opportunity would be a mature student, or someone working partly from home, who is easy-going, quite self-contained, and happy to spend some time with our homeowner in an occasional evening, chatting or maybe sharing a meal, or watching a good BBC drama (or possibly Coronation Street!).

There is a large garage for storage, and off-street parking is available.

Cost £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do not pay rent to the homeowner. Bills are included however you may need to contribute towards council tax £50 per month. (Full-time students are exempt from council tax.)
