This lovely room has recently become available in a 300+ year old rustic farmhouse on the outskirts of delightful Potten End village (just outside of Berkhamsted).

It's a double room (for single occupancy), and has recently been decorated and renovated. It has North, South and East facing windows so receives a lot of sunlight. There are enjoyable views across the fields and woods.

The room is offered furnished, part-furnished or unfurnished, and you would be welcome to bring your own items (eg. bed, units, chair etc). A double or single bed frame is offered if required. A mattress is a personal choice, so please plan to bring yours or source one that you actually like! Please discuss furnishing requirements after making contact / viewing.

There is also potential for the use of shared (with housemates) locked barn storage, subject to agreement / discussion.

The owner is a calm professional / creative business person and has lived here for over 18 years and has had lodgers / housemates for many years.

There are also two friendly dogs living here, so a new housemate would need to be happy / relaxed around them. The dogs would never be allowed into your private living spaces, although they may be present in the kitchen or gardens occasionally, however this can be easily managed if necessary.

The farmhouse is on around 1.5-acres of gardens / wooded areas so there are plenty of places to relax. Within 50 metres of the front door are miles of National Forest to stroll through. The house is on a woodland lane, and it is very quiet and dark at night (if one excludes the owls and muntjacs!).

The village has two pubs and a village store / coffee shop within walking distance, but transport of some variety is needed to get to the shops and facilities in Berkhamsted or Hemel / Warners End, which are about 7-8 mins drive away.

We aim to be a calm and harmonious household, and the right person would likely be a professional with a relaxed disposition and be someone who is looking to live in a characterful and rustic setting.

References would be required, potentially from a prior landlord, and a professional character reference or similar. An established social media presence (eg. a basic personal or professional Facebook account) would be desirable too.
