Ensuite bedsit. Reduced rent in return for help

I am looking for somebody who is studying or working from home, or works in the Deal/Ramsgate/Dover/Canterbury area.

I have multiple sclerosis and am looked after by carers who come in every day. But I need some extra help.
In exchange for this help I am offering an attractive and self-contained space.

£550 pcm is the market rate for renting the bedsit.
In exchange for the rent I am looking for a lodger to give me 10-12 hours of help a week.

Examples of the kind of help I need:

- Admin tasks on the computer. I am good on the computer but I find it hard to type.

- Help around the house. We have a cleaner, but I need help doing things like watering the plants, making a sandwich, filling the dishwasher, hanging out the laundry

-Helping to put me to bed some evenings

- Raising the alarm if there is an emergency. This does not mean you have to be in the house every night. During the last 2 years, our lodger has only been called in the night a few times. Like a good neighbour, what they have given me is some peace of mind.

This is not a simple transactional arrangement - we are looking for a mutually beneficial, warm and flexible relationship, which suits everybody’s needs.
We have had three lodgers in the last 2.5 years. The arrangement (you pay no rent in exchange for 10-12 hours of light help a week) has worked incredibly well for both them and for us.

The accommodation was refurbished to a high standard a year ago. It is a private space and is well set up for one person. It is the partial basement of a single storied house. There is a toilet, basin and shower as well as a kitchenette, bench table, good hanging and storage space and a single bed. Laundry can be done in the main house. There is a parking space. It’s a compact and well designed bedsit. It has windows but because of its position, the natural light is limited. There is a very nice and sunny garden which you can use.

The house and the surrounding area is quiet, safe and well looked after. The sea is less than a 10 minute walk. Deal town centre/station are a 15-20 minute walk.
