I am a live out landlord but used to live in this flat and this room for 4.5 years, it is a much loved flat and I'm sure you will find that too. I'm still local to be able to answer any questions if you need to get in touch.

I used to share the flat with John Paul who is the current other flatmate for 1.5 years and can say that he is a lovely guy, very friendly, quiet, clean, respectful and conscientious flatmate. I enjoyed sharing this space with him and I am hoping that we find someone who will replace the last tenant who was there for the last year. Most tenants have stayed for 15-50 months.

John Paul is 31 year old and works full time, at the moment he is either at home or at the office due to Covid. His bf Allan does stay there regularly as that worked for the last tenant who was out a lot and meant some company for JP especially during lockdown, Allan is lovely too.

About the room/flat

The pictures don't do the flat justice.

It is on the third floor of a modern block of flats and you will have a lovely furnished double room, which has a big inbuilt wardrobe and its own bathroom. There is an orthopaedic mattress on the ottoman bed, as well as a large chest of drawers, bedside table and desk & chair so you will have plenty of space for storage.

You will have the main bathroom for your sole use as JP has an ensuite in his room.

There is a large living room and kitchen which is common shared space.

If you have a car, don’t worry about parking as there are plenty of resident spaces, which can also be used for any guests. No permits needed

There is unlimited fibre optic BT WiFi throughout the flat.

About the area
It’s a fantastic location with lots of nearby facilities, I’ts only 1.2 miles from George square – you can walk it in 20 mins, or merchant city is around 15mins. Great for Strathclyde uni too.
For public transport, you have bellgrove train station within a 3-5 min walk which has regular links to Glasgow (approx every 5-15 mins in peak times) and takes 5 mins and will cost you only £1.70 for a return, as well as direct trains to Helensburgh, Cumbernauld and Edinburgh... Also plenty of bus links including night services which is handy to keep costs down or when there's too long a wait in the taxi queue.

It's a great location to get on the motorways where you can get on the M8 and M74 which will take you 5-8 mins to reach. Even the M77, which I used to take every morning, took me around 12-15mins to reach Silverburn shopping centre.

For your food shopping needs, there is a 24h Tesco and Aldi in the retail park (10 mins on foot), an Asda in the shopping centre (20 mins) a Lidl near the train station (5-10min walk) and a Morisons nearby. So, your pick of most of the supermarkets.

The Forge retail park is only 700m away (~5-10 walk), which has lots of popular shops and food places such as Home bargains, B&M, Argos, pc world, M&S outlet, sports direct… and others. The Forge shopping centre a little further away (~20min walk), which has an Asda, Primark, H&M, river island…
