**Hi folks! I've been kind of inundated with messages about the flat, which is great and very flattering, but it's also quite a lot to get through. Apologies if I don't get back to you quickly. I'm trying to work through these messages as best i can 🙂**

Hi!
I'm looking for a new flatmate from the middle of October to share this beautiful Southside flat.

A bit about the flat: It's a gorgeous big and bright South-facing tenement place on one of the most sought-after streets in the Southside. It has 3 bedrooms (one is being used as a work space), back and front shared garden, large homely kitchen with dishwasher and double oven/gas stove, 2 showers, and a large comfortable living room with wood-burning stove. The owners live nearby and have kitted the place out super-tastefully with some great furniture and stuff. The photos on this ad are from the times they have had AirBnB guests staying here, but things are pretty much as seen in the pictures. The street is very peaceful, but close to plenty of transport links and is only 10 minutes walk away from the shops, cafes and bars in Shawlands. We're also just down the hill from Queens Park.

Total rent and bills come to £550 for the month (although I'm not sure how the recent crazy rise in gas price is going to affect the heating bill if at all). This includes all utilities bills, council tax and also wood for the stove. Unfortunately, council tax exemptions for students wouldn't apply here as I'm not a student myself.

A bit about me: I'm a full-time musician, piano teacher and lefty type in my mid 30s. I'm usually very sociable, but like my home to be a bit of a wee haven rather than a party place. I'm a pretty tidy person and like to make sure my place is a clean and nice space to be in basically. Some of the things I like the most are: Listening to music (especially 60s/70s Soul, Art-Pop, Indie, anything with jangly guitars), drinking tea, going record shopping, listening to podcasts, going to and playing gigs, cooking, watching films and shows on my projector (favourites include Sopranos, Simpsons, Father Ted, Twin Peaks, RuPaul, The Office, Queer Eye, anything by Wes Anderson or the Coens or featuring Bob Mortimer), having a sit down, having a kickabout with pals, biscuits, drinking tasty boozes, going on walks.

This ad is turning into a bit of an essay, but it's important to me that I'm on the same wavelength as the person I live with so I figured I'd try and give you a vague idea of what I'm like. I met my current flatmate on here and we've become close friends, and ideally it'd great to live with someone who becomes a pal rather than someone who is just looking for a room to sleep in, you know? And who knows if we're going to end up having to be locked down together this winter after all! 😬

Incidentally, to be serious for a moment: I'm someone who is still taking the continued risk of Covid and the social responsibility of keeping people safe pretty seriously. If you're someone who isn't interested in getting the vaccine or in wearing a mask when you're getting your groceries, I don't think it'll work out. Sorry.

Also, I try my best to be a person who is anti-racist, anti-sexist and an ally to LGBTQIA+ folk. Living with someone with those same values is important to me too.

So, aye. Feel to get in touch with any questions if you want to know more. If you think I might be someone you'd like to live with it'd be great to have a chat, either in person or on Zoom or whatever.

Cheers!

Pete
