I am happy to consider negotiating lower rent rate for students who meet the widening participation criteria commonly used by Universities.

We share gas and electricity bills equally around £20 a month in summer £45 a month in winter. Water and WiFi included in rent. Full time students are exempt from council tax.

I'm 48 year old owner occupier living here with my young adult daughter who works part time & will be a student from August, and our rescue cat. LGBT friendly, we are a multi-cultural house and welcome diverse lodgers. Friendly and sociable but not a party house. The Street is mainly working families and post grad students.

Because it's my flat I clean the communal areas, hoover and mop hall, living room, kitchen, bathroom, stairwell, porch etc. I just ask lodgers to keep their own room clean and clean up after themselves e. g. their own washing up, wipe surfaces after they used kitchen, open bathroom window after bath or shower etc.
