Hi Everyone, my name is Emma and I'm a young professional living in Cathcart in the Southside of Glasgow. I am the landlady of a 2 bedroom flat in a new build development and I am currently looking for a new flat mate to move in from April 15. I am currently away travelling and won’t be away to respond quickly to messages however I’m back on 10th of April and would be looking to meet with potential flat mates.
A bit about me
I'm 25, software engineer who loves being in the outdoors (surfing, hiking, swimming, running, climbing - you name it) but also love to read, cook, do yoga and spend time with friends. I usually work from home 2 days a week. My desk is in the main living space but I’m really relaxed about others in the shared space whilst I’m working there.
A bit about who I’m looking for
I’m looking for a clean and respectful flat mate who likes to socialise but also appreciates their own space. Someone who likes a chilled and relaxed home environment. A professional is preferred but will consider a mature student who is happy to split council tax bills(included in the price anyway). Would be great to find someone who shares some of the same interests as me also. Not suitable for couples, smokers or pet owners.
A bit about the flat
The room is a double bedroom with a large window and plenty of storage (under the bed, chest of drawers, shelf and clothes rail). There is also a desk if you require to work from home and an office chair. You will also have access to the main bathroom which
will pretty much just be for you since I have my own ensuite. The flat also has a spacious kitchen/living room with lots of plants and plenty of kitchen storage. There is also a separate laundry room with washing machine and a hallway cupboard. The development of flats is situated on a quiet street with a lovely garden and outdoor space. The flat is a new build so it’s nice and warm and cosy in winters!
A bit about the area
Situated less than 5 mins walk from Cathcart station (15 minutes on the train to central station), also next to several bus stops and next bike rental.
Cute shops and cafes within 10 minutes walk. Walking distance to the lively areas of battlefields and shawlands where you’ll find plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants.
Close to Queen's Park and Linn park which are both beautiful places for a chill walk or a nice run. Free on street parking and 10 minute drive from M74.
The nitty gritty
Rent is £550 (deposit of £550)
Council tax is £115pp (band E)
WiFi is £15pp
Gas and electricity £60pp (works out about this much pp in winter)
Total £740 per month
Looking forward to hear from you :))
N. B I’ll be back in Scotland on 10th April and looking to meet people in person from then onwards. The move in date would be from 15th April onwards.
