Hi there,
I am renting a nice big bedroom in my flat in Govanhill. It's right opposite the Govanhill Baths so it's a great location for everything in the Southside, as well as easy to get into town if you need.
It's a 2 bedroom flat with a large living room, in an old tenement so high ceilings and plenty of natural light.
The room and flat is furnished and ideally I'm looking for someone who needs a few months to stay somewhere. I would plan for you to move in at the start of April, but this can be flexible. Please let me know when you would be looking to move in and for how long.
Because the flat is furnished, including a bed, desk, chest of drawers in your room, I am not looking for someone who is bringing lots of furniture and boxes with them.
If you're interested, please let me know a bit about yourself, your interests, style of communication, what are you looking for in a home, what's your situation (work, studying etc) and anything important about shared living. Having written a lot of these in the past I know it can be a faff - please dont feel the need to 'sell' yourself! It's just helpful to get a feel for what you're looking for and where you're at. And anything random or interesting is always a bonus, if you're really into trees for example :)
I'm a pretty laid-back person and enjoy living a quiet life. I'm not a party house and like living in a space that's calm, secure, clean, homely and fun.
I'm 32, and work as a massage therapist and in a cafe, and I have class a few evenings a week, so I'm not at home the majority of the time.
I like to cook, read, draw, meditate, chat to friends, listen to music and dance, watch the world go by etc. Simple life!
For me, the most important thing about living together is friendly and clear communication, respecting each others space and needs, and looking out for each other. Personally I dont drink alcohol but have no problem if someone wants to drink, but maybe im not a good match for you if you want it to be a big session every night.
The price is bills inclusive but this might depend on your energy needs - if you like a daily bath etc!
The flat is pretty big and there is a desk and monitor in your room if you need, with fast internet. The living space is pretty open and there's a table to eat at. The kitchen is small but has two doors in/out so not too cramped. Bathroom is your typical skinny tenement style!
The flat is 2nd floor and is not wheelchair accessible.
For those who don't know the area, Govanhill is a fun and vibrant area of the Southside. There are so many cafes/ pubs / restaurants around and countless food shops, predominantly South Asian, Eastern European and Kurdish stores, with a Lidl's 3 mins away. I honestly dont need to go anywhere else for shopping than the streets around me. There is also a big park 5 mins walk away which is very social, especially in the Summer. This is the area that most people would consider as the most 'fun' in the city, and a good community spirit. I cycle and there is space to lock a bike to the railings in the hallway outside the flat.
There is a train station (Queens Park) 5 mins walk that can get you into town v easily, as well as lots of buses on Victoria Road (30 seconds!).
Any questions let me know. Please tell me what you are looking for in terms of length of stay, and when you are looking to move in, thanks!
