*Open to any female undergraduate currently studying at the University of Glasgow

Hey! I am looking for someone to take over my room at Kelvinhaugh Street from 12 April to 12 June. The contract start date is flexible, I am open to discussing with anyone who is looking to move in a few weeks later as well (perhaps after the Spring Break, etc), but the contract end date is not flexible, as that was determined by the university. (Of course, you can ask the university about extending your contract with them!). The university accommodations services have approved me advertising my room for this period, you will be signing the contract directly with them! :) I would be happy to send you proof of their approval via email.

I am an exchange student studying in the university for AY25/26 sem 2. I ended up with courses that all do not have any examinations, so I have no reason to stay near the university beyond April 12. This flat would be ideal for anyone who would like their own space close to the university, to focus in during the final examination period of the semester.

The contract that you sign will be with the university itself, not with me. The rate that the university charges is £161.49 a week, all amenities (heating, water, electricity) are included.

Pictures of the residence are readily available online, on the University of Glasgow website and in their 360 image gallery, but please just reach out to me if you’d like more of this specific room and flat! I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the room or the flat :)

The room is situated in the Kelvinhaugh Street Residence, in an all-female, 5 person flat on the ground floor of the accommodation, with a shared toilet, shared bathroom, and shared kitchen. Laundry facilities are available on-site, and this flat I’m in happens to be really conveniently close to the laundry room.

I would be leaving you with (freshly cleaned) kitchenware and bedding for your use, so your move in would be extremely easy, as you wouldn’t need to source or bring these items with you. And you’d be saving money in that regard!

My bedding includes:

2 Pillows
1 Pillow Case
1 Duvet
1 Duvet Cover

A mattress and mattress protector are provided by the university accommodation itself. The room comes with a desk, lamp, cushioned chair, bin, cupboard, and plenty of space in the shelves and drawers. The room has an adjustable radiator, with the thermostat in the kitchen. The floor is carpeted, and the flat also comes with cleaning apparatuses. If you’d need some other specific small things (eg. a plastic shower caddy, a laundry bag)—I’d be happy to leave them here for you when we discuss things after you’ve signed the contract with the university.

My kitchenware includes:
1 pot
1 non-stick pan with a lid
1 bowl
1 plate
A knife set, with 3 knives varying in size
1 chopping board
1 wooden spatula
1 plastic spatula
1 metal ladle
1 plastic ladle
2 mugs
1 can opener

The kitchen comes equipped with a stove, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer, and sink. It is also very spacious for a 5 person flat, with both a dining table and couches, plenty of cupboard and counter space with an extra kitchen table beside the fridges. The ample space and seating makes it great for hosting.

I’ve briefly stayed in Murano Street Student Village, and I find the area that the Kelvinhaugh Residence is situated in to be far more pleasant, lively, and much much more convenient. It’s in a great location, it is just a 10 minute walk away from the university, and a 5 minute walk from the lovely Kelvingrove park. There’s a Sainsbury's and Tesco just a 3 minute walk away from the flat, and a Lidl just a 10 min walk away. There are a couple of Asian grocery stores nearby as well: iMart Oriental Finneston is a 4 minute walk away, for example. There are also many nice stores, cafes and bars around Finnieston, though the residence isn’t directly exposed to the street they’re all on, so noise and crowd from them is not an issue at all.

Please let me know if I can answer any of your questions, or if you’d like more pictures of the flat! I would be more than delighted to arrange a flat viewing, in person or through video call.

If this works out and you sign a contract with the university to take over the room from me, I’d be happy to help you move in and set your room up, if that is something you would want! :)
