Double Room in Cosy Countryside Home

This is a speculative ad for a new housemate, my previous housemates moved out at the beginning of November and I've been renting the place on my own for a while. Due to previous experiences I'm keen to take time in finding the right person to share with and chat/meet up a few times first.

Quick bit about the house and room - it's a spacious unfurnished loft bedroom with stone feature walls as seen throughout the house. We're in Walsden, West Yorkshire, a short walk to the train station and an even shorter walk to the pub! We also have amazing walks on our doorstep to suit avid adventurers. Todmorden is a short drive or train ride away and, for commuters, the train goes direct to Manchester (under 30mins) and Leeds too (about 1hr).

The rest of the house consists of a shared bathroom with a bath and shower, a large farmhouse-style kitchen with gas hobs and electric oven, a large cosy lounge and a fenced patio area outside the front door (neighbours also use this for access).

I work from home, generally keeping to myself, my work and my dog fills most of my time but I'll happily socialise when there's opportunity! And yes, there's a dog! He's my young friendly rescue and will love you once he gets to know you. It's super important to me that he's comfortable around whoever lives here and that they treat him well, he has had an unsettled start to life and his happiness and security will always take priority. Basically, he has final say on who stays, so a fellow dog-lover is a must! Unfortunately he wouldn't tolerate another dog in the house at the moment, and isn't fond of cats. This might change in future.

I've been using the spare room as a "man cave" of sorts, recently repainted.
