I have a spare room available for rent from the 12nd of March 2025. Minimum 6 months, to be reviewed and could continue possibly for years. Price includes all bills. It is in my beautiful flat in Abbey Wood, South-East London. Your windows overlooks a forest. Exceptionally peaceful and quiet area. Sharing the flat with just one person, myself, but I am often abroad for weeks or months. Occasionally a friend of mine stays in my room when I am not there. It's a one bedroom flat and I live in the 'living-room', which means there is no traditional living room in the flat, however the kitchen is used as a dining room too. The kitchen is well equipped, cooker, oven, washing machine & dishwasher, microwave, saucepans etc. There is a good quality shower in the bathroom, in addition to the bath. The flat is on the second floor, and there is no lift. Nearby there are several forests, excellent for walking and running. The rent is £800/month, which includes ALL utilities, Council Tax and internet (the fastest available for private homes in this area). Abbey Wood : just 10 mins walk from the flat you can find the the famous 1000 years old Lesnes Abbey ruins, with a well-kept park, cafeteria and a Community Centre (yoga classes, art & craft fairs etc). This area is becoming increasingly popular, there is a new Cultural Centre at Woolwich. We are in the borough of Greenwich, not far from the historic Greenwich Park ad Greenwich village, with all it's diverse cultural opportunities, theatre, cinema, jazz bar, restaurants etc. If shopping is important for you, there is a large Sainsbury, Tesco and Lidl nearby, and Farmers Markets at the weekends. Abbey Wood has excellent transport links: it has an underground and a train station (all in one). It is the South East terminal of the new Elizabeth Line, which takes you to Central London within 20 minutes. Trains can take you to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross Stations, all in Central London. There are also many buses, including a night bus, which stops five minutes away from my house. Woolwich is nearby (one stop on Elizabeth Line) and you can take a boat to Central and/or West London, which is a nice experience. Alternatively you can take the DLR from Woolwich to various places in East London, which means, to the northern side of the Thames, e. g. Stratford and Bank. Abbey Wood have direct links to Luton and Heathrow Airports, and if you are going to Gatwick or Stanstead, you only have to change once. "London's Best Kept Secret, Abbey Wood" (You can check my video about the area on YouTube with the same title). I am looking for a flat-mate who is self-sufficient, independent, but friendly. Someone who does the washing up after cooking, without having to be asked. I prefer females, and vegetarians. But if you are an exceptionally nice man, or if you occasionally eat meat, you can apply. Sorry I won't consider smokers. I can consider a couple, but then the rent is £200 more, so it would be £1000 per month.
