Bright double room in pretty, friendly flat

Ad ref# 17205885

Hi! We're two friends & flatmates in our mid-30s. We're looking for a third person to join our happy home, in late April or the beginning of May.

Finances: rent is £500/month, bills roughly £135/month (wifi, gas & electricity, water, council tax band C). It’s rented as a whole flat from the landlords, and will be a year’s tenancy with the option to renew. The landlords require either a guarantor or proof of income at 3x the monthly rent. Unfortunately require a £50 check through their agency.

Becky manages the bills, but your name goes on the bills too (unless you’d rather not, which is fine!) and the documents live in the spare room.

The room: unfurnished, south-facing double room with lots of light. Generally quiet, with built-in double wardrobe.

The flat: big, light living room which we've decorated with vaguely art deco/midcentury modern vibes. Nice bright little kitchen with a decent amount of storage. Small spare room, which we mostly use for storage & laundry, but we've got a blow-up single bed & bedside table for people to stay. The area's really lovely, with Crystal Palace as well as nice smaller parks nearby. There's a Tesco Express 3 minutes away and we're halfway between 2 high streets.

Non-smokers & no drugs only please! Pets are theoretically not allowed, but we can ask the landlord about it (and we're considering cats ourselves).

Access: it's a ground-floor flat with 1 small external step at the back door, 2 steps at the front door, and fairly narrow hallways/doors. All on one level when you get inside, and there's one bathroom (with no loo) and a separate toilet. There’s a front and back door, front has buzzer entry. We enjoy scented candles/oil burners/perfumes/scented soaps etc.

Transport: 17 minutes' walk from Norwood Junction (which is 12 minutes to London Bridge), and about 15 minutes' walk from Anerley Overground.

The roommates: nerdy, creative, neurodivergent, kink-friendly queers; intersectional lefties. Omnivores but 100% respect all "no meat/animal products on this kitchenware" rules.

There are two of us: Becky, a bi cis woman who likes theatre, OTT outfits, dancing badly, writing, books (the bookcase in the sitting room is hers, you're welcome to claim a shelf or two ofc); and Kye, a bi trans guy. He loves video games and cosplay, writing, baking, makeup and Yankee candles. And... basically anything that smells pretty :D

This is definitely a home, rather than random housemates; we were close friends for years before living together, and we've lived here together since 2020. That said, we definitely respect privacy and need for alone time, though we're more than happy to share the occasional bottle of wine & chat!

We're both neurodivergent (ADHD/auDHD). We make an effort and manage to keep the flat fairly tidy, and we're looking for someone who helps with that, but we do understand those occasional no-energy days!

If this all sounds good, or if you have any questions, please get in touch. :)
