We are looking for someone new for our lovely Archway home, as one of our housemates is moving in with his partner.
You'd have the large double bedroom on the 1st floor. It's right next to the main bathroom (shower over bath), which you'd be sharing with just one other person. There's an additional toilet room on the ground floor. Total of 4 loos!
The room comes partially furnished with a bed, small desk, built-in wardrobe and mini set of drawers. There's enough space to fit a larger desk as well as an extra wardrobe, should you need.
The rest of the common areas are on the ground floor and include: large living/dining area, kitchen, entry hall, guest toilet, 2 storage closets and a leafy garden that gets beautiful afternoon sun (when it’s not the depths of winter).
We have all the typical furnishings - highlights are a separate tumble dryer, a dishwasher and an extra fridge/freezer, so it's just 2 people per fridge. Our landlord recently agreed to updates, which includes new tiles for the kitchen floor and walls (likely happening this month), carpet cleaning and repainting of the shared interior spaces. We currently have Netflix, Prime, NOW and Disney. Open to being bribed with an Apple TV sub… 🍎🧙🏻♀️
We are in a gated mews set back from the road, which makes it feel very safe and also VERY quiet – you might even forget you're in London! Archway Road/Holloway Road can be reached in 2 mins, and it's a 5–6/7 mins walk from both Archway Station and Upper Holloway Overground in either direction. There are loads of bus routes too. We're spoilt for choice with shops (including Aldi & M&S), fab local cafes/restaurants, services like the post office, library, gyms etc. There are also 3 co-works within a 5-min walk! Beautiful Highgate Hill and Waterlow Park are also just a stroll away.
About us – you'd be sharing with me, Tarryn (30s, South African freelance writer & makeup artist), Connor (20s Brit in the civil service) & Niamh (20s Kiwi in heritage). We're a respectful & chilled group looking for someone similar who's down to socialise at times and be an active part of our household (pub quiz fans very welcome!) Friends/partners can visit, and we have the occasional party, but we're not a 'party house'.
Move-in date is 1 April. Our current lease runs till 30 September with the option to renew, and previous renewals have included an increase of approx. 5%. Monthly bills are currently fixed at approx. £125 (elec, gas, wifi, council tax). The water bill arrives every few months on a random schedule, so there's a small amount extra to budget for when that happens.
We don’t have a gender preference, but we are specifically looking for someone in the millennial age bracket this time, to keep the age balance in the house. Please include some info about yourself to be considered.
