Double Room in newly renovated spacious flat

Living Room

Hello :) I am looking for a flatmate to join me in this beautiful 2 bed flat in Balham. I was hunting for ages before finding this gem, and am really looking forward to making it home.

Everything in the flat is brand new, the landlord has just spent a year completely renovating it to a very high spec- so every inch is sparkling new and I would like flatmate who would appreciate that and like to keep it this way.

It’s in a great location on a quiet street a few minutes’ walk from Tooting Common, equal 8 min walk to Balham station or Tooting Bec station. I have lived in this area for years and absolutely love it, it’s quiet and green and everything you need is on your doorstep.

The Flat

It looks a little sparse in the photos as this was straight after renovations, but I am adding more furniture and homey touches. I love interior decor so will have it looking great in no time. There is a large lounge/dining room which opens out onto a garden that gets sun all day. There is a huge new kitchen (great if you love cooking!) with washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, large fridge/freezer and a cute breakfast bar. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower and pressured water. It looks and feels extremely luxurious! As part of the renovations, the flat was sound proofed, thermally insulated and windows double glazed/draft proofed- so will be very energy efficient bills wise. Polished wooden floors. Brand new burglar alarm and fire alarm. Wandsworth council tax. Sky tv.

The Room

The bedroom is a double with a big built in wardrobe, bedside table, chest of drawers. All furniture and mattress is brand new (lovely memory foam mattress!). The room is not huge but has everything you need, it is at the back of the house with a window looking out onto the garden so is very quiet and peaceful.

A bit about me and my ideal flatmate

I have been living in London for 5 years now, I’m a lawyer working in finance. I am fairly busy with work in the week so like to keep it quiet in the evenings, I head to the gym some evenings or home cooking dinner. I am house proud and keep a very clean and tidy home and would need someone who is the same- if we are not on the same page with this it will not be a good fit. I would like a flatmate that is respectful of shared space and considerate. Someone who would maybe be up for glass of wine or enjoying the common would be nice, happy to catch up over dinner/watch some tv, but also appreciate the need for our own space. I like my home to be somewhere peaceful and relaxed to come back to after a long day. It would be great to find someone like minded, friendly and tidy- the ability to keep plants alive is a bonus!
