Hi We have a double room available in our four bedroom flat on the 29th floor of one of the Barbican towers- a rare chance to live in a Brutalist architectural masterpiece/dystopian nightmare (depending on how you feel about these things)
The flat has an enormous lounge/dining room with floor to ceiling windows, bathroom, separate toilet, utility room with washing machine/dishwasher and a galley kitchen with all the original Barbican fixtures and fittings
As an area Barbican is pretty ideal. It is a short walk into the City, a 10 minute walk from the bustling nightlife of Old St/Shoreditch and 15-20 mins into Soho and the West End. There is a lovely daily food market on Whitecross street a few moments away, and we are directly above the Barbican arts centre with its theatres bars and terraces. The 2 new Barbican cinema screens are directly opposite our front door.
Being a resident entitles use to use of all the communal Barbican facilities- private gardens, tennis courts, basketball court and even a sub tropical greenhouse facility- because why not. We have access to a garage to store a bike, and a 24 concierge to trawl through Amazon prime deliveries.
There is a Waitrose (fancy) 2 minutes away. There is a Tesco express (fine) 4 minutes away. If you are feeling particularly decadent you could get an Ocado delivery. It happens. 2 minutes is just too far away for some people.
Perhaps best of all though is the balcony which wraps around the flat itself. All bedrooms and the living room have access to it, which gives the most incredible views out over the whole of London. It's very good spot to watch firework displays- though possibly less ideal if you suffer from crippling vertigo
You would be sharing with 3 guys who work in the arts/media/journalism and are therefore not considered viable prospects for mortgage providers. Luckily the joys of the flat outweigh the existential malaise of still having to share one in our advancing years...
The rent is 750 a month plus bills (which come in around the £140 mark)/ There is a £900 deposit. You would be able to move in from the end March, although could be earlier by arrangement with our outgoing flatmate. She is moving in with her boyfriend so dates can be flexible
If you are interested, please drop us a line and tell us about yourself- we will be arranging viewings asap
Look forward to hearing from you..
