Beautiful flat, converted pub, quiet leafy street

The front room

Beautiful fully furnished two floor flat - on a leafy tree lined street. Large double room for rent. The building's an old converted pub, so very high ceilings and great features with huge windows and a very well lit beautiful front room.

The large double room to rent currently has: pine double bed, chest of draws, pine double wardrobe, standing shelves. There is also storage downstairs adjacent to my room / under the stairs if needed. It's an L shaped room and I can give the dimensions on contact. There's a study space / desk downstairs with a reading nook and sofabed if friends stay over.

A communal bike store is on the ground floor (the flat / your room is also ground floor - so easy to move into - but also not at the front of the building so very secure) and there's also room in the flat hallway for 1 bike (as well as mine) if you prefer and another stored downstairs if needed.

There is a toilet on the ground floor / same floor as your bedroom which is entirely yours (five steps from your door on the landing - this is the 'en suite') - the bathroom downstairs with bath / shower is shared with me (good water pressure in the shower). There's a gated patio to the front of the building which no-one uses other than me, which can be accessed either by side gate or through my room. Been lovely sitting out drinking coffee in the recent sunny mornings and having a glass of wine / occasional bbq in the evenings.

Fifteen minutes from Bermondsey tube, Bermondsey Street (and all the cafes / restaurants), Maltby market + The Bermondsey beer mile. About 25min walk to London Bridge and Borough Market. Ten minutes walk to the Arch Climbing wall and situated right on the Q1 cycle path. Buses into central run from the end of the rd, right by the local independent coffee shop Crol & Co (which sells fresh bread / cakes for the morning and wine / cocktails for the evening). There's also a corner shop immediately opposite for essentials.

Just far enough North of Old Kent rd to be incredibly quiet, but close enough to access all the big stores necessary for day to day needs (Large Tescos, B&Q, Argos, PC World etc). Southwark park (best park in South London!), Burgess park (biggest in South London) and Folkstone Gardens (least well known / best little park) are just a short walk away. Peckham, Camberwell, Deptford, Greenwich and South Bank are all a short bike ride away (or bus).

I spend all my time cycling, swimming and climbing when not working (sustainable business consultancy). Generally a quiet guy, but I love conversation, music and cooking - happiest sitting in the evening talking over a meal... I love a festival / party / DnB - just not at home ;)

Keen for anyone living here to be friends as well as a flatmates. I'm a liberal socialist / LGBTQ+ positive and looking for someone who is intelligent, self aware and probably the opposite of bro culture. Note, couples a possibility (preference for individual) but the rent would be 30% increase. Council tax band E, all bills (council tax, energy, water, internet, TV subscriptions etc etc) incl.
