We have a double room for rent (for a boy) on the top floor of our Victorian terrace in Bow.

You’ll be sharing with 5 people – 2 English, 2 French and 1 Spanish.

We work in a wide range of freelance and full time jobs; event management, facilities management, hairdressing and photography to name a few.

We’re best described as sociable but independent. There’s hanging out watching TV, drinks out, drinks in, hungover sofa days and we have some good cooks in house who are always happy to share for an impromptu dinner party. We've started doing a house dinner every so often too, with dishes from all over the world to represent us.

We also have a cat, but he isn't around much as he's an independent soul! His name is Mr Smiths and he's definitely his own boss.

No students or couples please. We are also only looking for a male housemate to keep the male/female balance in the house.

The house – it’s a four storey Victorian terrace. We have six bedrooms over the four floors, so it’s quiet and separate if you like that, or with a big kitchen/dining area and a separate lounge room if you want a bit of company! We also have a separate laundry room (with washing machine and tumble dryer), two bathrooms and a garden at the back of the house.

The room comes furnished with a bed, drawers, 2 spaces to hang clothes and a table and chair. It’s on the top floor at the rear of the house, looking over the garden, with gorgeous sunsets coming in through the windows all year round.

The area – you can’t ask for better in terms of transport. It's a 2 minute walk to either Bow Rd tube station on the Disctrict/Hammersmith & City Line, or Bow Church DLR station, with lots of buses along Bow Road. We’re close enough to Bethnal Green, Dalston, Shoreditch etc to make going out and getting home good, but just a stop out so the rent is lower than other places with just as much space. Roman Road is only a 10 minute walk away too, with it's market and large dollop of traditional East London life. 10 minutes in other directions leads to Regents Canal or the Limehouse Cut too, for Canalside and eventual Thames Walks.

The money – the room is £550 pcm. This includes Council Tax and water. Our gas/elec bills are usually £15-£45 per month (depending on the season) and we have a kitty for things like loo-roll and washing up liquid, and a cleaner that does the communal areas every fortnight. The deposit is 6 week's rent and it’s a private landlord so there aren't any agents fees.

The landlord has owned for the house for a long time and knows us well. He is quick to do repairs etc, kind enough chap and is easily contactable.

The room is available from the weekend of the 6th of February.
