Our flatmate has left London -- shame for us, but great news for anyone looking to live in Brixton, right off of Windrush Square.
The home is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom flat on the first and second floor of a terraced house, and is clean, comfortable and filled with light. One huge bathroom has a shower cabin, toilet and sink, while the second smaller bathroom has a bathtub. The kitchen is also massive, with lots of cabinet and counter space. The bedroom faces the garden and is peaceful and serene. The bedroom itself comes unfurnished, but the furniture seen in the pictures is up for sale at £150. There is currently no bed, but there is definitely potential for our landlord to supply the new tenant with one. Our landlord is very chill but super responsive.
The flat is located on a fairly quiet road off Windrush Square, about a 5 minute walk to the station, with the Ritzy practically at your doorstep (maybe not useful now but will be amazing once -- if ever -- life gets back to normal). Brixton is a wonderful area with easy transport links. Things are a bit quieter now but usually there is loads going on and it's just lots of fun.
You’ll be living with two other people -- myself, Aleks, 32, an American woman working in ed- tech, and Chris, 36, a British man who coincidentally also works in ed-tech (that's not a requirement to live here, though :)). We both had busy lives with various interests, including fitness, food, television, travel, reading and going out, but now we mostly just hang out and watch TV. Exercise occasionally. Really looking forward to Brixton opening again.
We’re looking for someone who is clean and tidy, and has interests of their own but is happy to occasionally hang out together. No couples, unfortunately. Both Chris and I currently work from home for now. He works in his bedroom, while I typically use the living room. There is space for more people in the living room, or the bedroom can fit a desk, if that's preferred.
The flat is officially available from now, and we'd need someone by 12th January 2021 at the latest.
Rent does not include bills, which come to about £130 a month, and include internet and Sky TV. We used to have a weekly cleaner but that was put on hold during Covid and is something we can discuss bringing back.
