Hello there!
Our housemate has decided to move back to her country and so we are looking for someone to take over our spare single room in our great Brixton home. It's in a three-bedroom flat in a Victorian house, with a front and massive rear garden, kitchen with dining area, amazing sunny living room (which we currently use to work and study), and bathroom.
NOTE: WE ARE PLANNING TO MOVE OUT OF LONDON TOO BY THE END OF THE YEAR/JANUARY, SO THIS IS A SHORT-TERM LET FOR TWO/THREE MONTHS :).
The house is literally 150 meters from Brixton Station and the Brixton Market, and probably 50 meters from the Brixton Academy. If you know the area, it means being physically next to Brixton's great amenities (and 3-min walk to the tube, really) coupled with the quiet of a terraced house in a residential street. Oh, and we have an amazing garden with a hammock and an apple tree from which each summer we even produce our own jam. The garden is also regularly visited by singing birds, a squirrel, two cats, and a fox.
The bedroom is tiny (2.2 x 2.5 meters) but it's super cozy, very quiet, and has a beautiful view of the garden. Please note that the access to the garden is through the room, so you should be willing to give access during the daytime (don't worry, we are very respectful and, apart from the summer, the garden is not used much).
You would be sharing with me Davide, 37-yo Italian academic with a passion for bicycles, capoeira, and the countryside, and Eduardo, a 32-yo Mexican academic in love with TV series, Gay calendars, and all the cultural gems that London has to offer.
We don't have gender preferences but, if you are a boy, you must promise that you know how to properly hit inside the toilet seat (you get it?). The house is proud to be relaxed and friendly (eg when around, we have shared dinners or spend time together) and, at the same time, extremely clean and tidy. We have cleaning rotas and look for someone who cares about common spaces. Besides, the house is academic-friendly, meaning that we spend a lot of time studying/researching and we tend to be very quiet most of the time.
The rent is £440 PCM. Bills are extra and come at around £90/100 PCM inclusive of council tax, broadband, water, gas, and electricity. The room is tiny, but so is the price which, for what the house offers overall, is good value-for-money. Plus, we deal directly with our friendly landlady, so there are no pink-shirt letting agents to interact with and no agency fee to pay.
The room will be available from 1 November and will fit someone like-minded to the house: friendly, relaxed, and very clean.
If interested, drop a message telling us a bit about yourself.
