Hi there!
My name is Ally and I’m a 29-year old Australian who is on the hunt for a fab new housemate in London.
I’ve found a STUNNING two-bedroom flat in Brixton, in which my friend had planned to join me, though sadly had to back out. Alas! The flat is such a rare gem that I don’t want to let it go.
ABOUT THE FLAT: The flat is situated on Hayter Road in Brixton, and is on the top floor (just one set of stairs) of a gorgeous period conversion. It features timber floorboards throughout, and a really good sized, open plan kitchen/living space with timber bench tops, down lights, modern appliances (inc. washing machine and dishwasher) and stylish, white cabinetry. The two period-style windows in the living area look out to the street, providing plenty of light and a really lovely airy feel.
Being split level, the first bedroom (mine) is on the top level, and down the small staircase is a contemporary main bathroom and the second master bedroom (yours).
The house is approximately an 11-minute walk to Brixton Station (Victoria line and train line), as well as all the restaurants/bars and shops of Brixton Village and Market. There is a huge Tesco and Lidl supermarket within minutes walking distance (hello, convenience!), and it's also approximately a 15-minute walk to Clapham North station (Northern line).
ABOUT THE ROOM: The room that would be available is simply beautiful. It’s a great sized double with it’s own contemporary ensuite (!), with built in wardrobes and period features.
ABOUT ME: My name is Ally, 29, and I’m a Digital Content Specialist for a global travel company based in Bromley South. I have lived in London for the past two years on my youth migrant visa, and have now returned for another three years on a sponsorship visa. I absolutely adore living in London, and really look forward to making this little flat a beautiful home with another female who shares a similar laid-back, friendly personality. I love all the normal stuff: travel, fashion, interiors, a glass of wine with Netflix and spending time with friends (which, hopefully you will be a part of!).
DETAILS: Available 12th February 2018 (current tenants move out date).
RENT: £965 pcm + bills (not quite sure what the exact figure would be on these yet, but they should include basic gas & electricity, a fortnightly cleaner, Wi-Fi and council taxes – my friend in the street behind pays approximately £100 each per month for similar bills). For such a contemporary flat in a beautiful conversion, with a huge room and ensuite, close to excellent transport links – this is an absolute winner.
