Art Deco Flat off Broadway Market (+ small GYM)

Looking for a cheerful, funny, independent type for an easygoing yet vibrant home.

I have a big double room available in a light and spacious house 2 minutes walk from bustling Broadway market and on Regents Canal.

Art deco vibe, spread over two floors, including a modern kitchen and separate dining/living room, a small room I use as a gym (with some weights, bands and a pull up bar), a front patio, big back garden and (drum roll please......) a boat called Florence who can be taken on out on the canal on weekends.

The house has lots of natural light and green views from both sides. All the mod cons, plenty of storage space, place for a bike, a cleaner every week who can do ironing if needed. One bathroom with a bath as well as two separate toilets.

The room itself is pretty large, with lots of built in storage and a drawer under the bed. The bed is comfortable and the room comes with a bookcase, bedside table and large retro sideboard. Large windows and wooden floorboards.

I’m very open to having a dog live here as long as the dog has (or knows someone with) a bank account...

Most suitable for someone over 30 and I’m not open to couples. This is not a big party house but I welcome people coming over for dinner and craic.

I’m 41, from London and currently work advising schools/digital startups and teaching economics. I am a mediocre but motivated surfer and trapeze enthusiast, fan of sparky people, cultured things like film, theatre, literature, economic empowerment. I’m easygoing and sociable, also happy to do my own thing.

Claude, my 6yo son, stays here 3 nights a week. I would describe him as a bit like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes if you know the cartoon - cheeky, charming and fun little kid.

The flat is about a 15 min walk from Bethnal Green tube, 10 mins from Cambridge Heath and London Fields overground, 12 mins from Haggerston. Lots of buses and it’s only 30 mins walk to Liverpool St.
