Hello! We’re a leftist, queer household in our 30s looking for a like-minded housemate to join us 💛

There’s three of us —Mia and Carolina (a couple) and Rowan— and we’ve been living together for the last couple of years. We work in teaching, film/tv and higher education and are up to quite a bit outside the house, e. g. community organising, woodworking, bikepacking, gardening/growing food, language learning, book clubs, salsa dancing, football and music.

We’ve just secured a beautiful 3-bedroom, split level flat on Brockley Rd (a 6-min walk from the station and 5-min from Hilly Fields Park), and are offering the 3rd room which is a spacious, unfurnished double (4.39 x 3.38m) on the top floor.

Our home is generally calm, fairly quiet, and community-oriented. We share some responsibilities like cleaning and cooking rotas (where each person cooks once a week for everyone, and then gets to enjoy other people’s cooking the rest of the week), and buying household staples and communal dried foods together. We've found these systems work practically while also creating the space to spend time together and look after one another. We also generally try to live in a way that’s thoughtful — both towards each other and the wider world — creating a home that feels safe, warm, respectful and easy to be yourself in.

A few practical bits:

- Rent: £800 for one person or £900 for couples
- Bills: £100, estimated (to be calculated when we move in)
- Accessibility: Two sets of stairs to the flat, and another one to reach the room
- Council Tax Band C
- To note — the photos are from previous tenants as we haven't moved in yet. We're planning for the communal spaces to look a lot nicer when we do!
