I bought and did up the flat a few years ago to use when working in central London (as a professional in the rail industry). Now, as well as working, I am studying at Birkbeck, University of London (History & Archaeology) for the next three years, am looking for a flatmate, another student, to share the flat with.
The flat is beautiful and ideal for studying with transport and everything else close by such as the nightlife in Camden and Kentish Town (and central London). You can get anywhere, especially the Universities or the Kings Cross area, easily by tube, bus, bike or on foot. (There is a locked room for your bike). I use the nearby Regents Canal to get to KX, Stratford and Paddington for example (by bike not boat!) The 168 bus will take you to Bloomsbury in 15-20 min depending on traffic or you can walk in half an hour.
It is in a grade II listed Georgian townhouse (1820), one of the oldest and most distinctive buildings in Camden. The interior has been tastefully refurbished (please note I am refreshing some parts of it though the room is finished and ready to occupy). This is not standard student digs.
The room's small (though cosy and comfortable) but there's plenty of space in the rest of the sunny flat: big living room, with a large table for studying, and which can accommodate occasional guests on the futon; a wood-burning stove; fully equipped kitchen, great for cooks; informal roof terrace to sit in the sun and smoke/drink beer. You can glimpse The Shard and St Pauls. Just about. Everything is light, clean and tasteful but the main thing is it's easy to live in and hassle free.
The flat's got loads of books about London (after all, when you're tired of that . . . ), fast internet, Netflix etc. Pretty well everything you could need.
I'm looking for someone interesting, lively, fun (not boring!), enthusiastic about London (whether new to it or not), and vegetarian (no meat in the flat please). I'm friendly and easy-going and know Camden and London well, and hope to find someone with an open, compatible outlook rather than identical interests. As for me I'm gregarious and always up for going out (rarely, it has to be said, with people of my own age) and generally living life and having a laugh - but am also interested in a great many different things and hope you will be too.
Since it's not a conventional flatshare it won't suit everyone but for the right person it's be perfect. If you want I'll put you in touch with previous flatmates, they have all liked it here.
No viewings until around 1 September.
