Hi everyone! I’m Frankie (they/them) and I’m looking for a new flatmate to join me
and my 5-year-old cat, Teddy, in a 2-bed queer houseshare from 1st July. Rent is
£850 per month and the bills typically come to between £100 and £150, depending on the month. I am the other tenant and there’s a little bit more about me and what I’m looking for below. I’m looking to live with someone queer and over the age of 25. No cisgender men please. :)

*About the house and area*

I have a double room going in a spacious 2-bedroom, terraced house that has a lounge, dining room (open plan with the lounge), kitchen, office and one large bathroom. We also have a garden that has a shed. There is also storage space under the stairs. The house is in E16, between Canning Town (zone 2) and Custom House (zone 3) stations. We’re on a quiet street with lots of families. We’re really well located and the house is very close to the Royal Docks, East Ham, Hackney Wick and Stratford. We are in 15 minutes’ walk of either tube station and there are buses at the end of the road that go to the stations, too. The buses also go to East Ham, Hackney and Beckton.

Pets are allowed with permission from the landlord but Teddy is a solo cat, so I can’t accept someone with another pet unfortunately. Fellow plant parents are very welcome though.

*Accessibility information*

The house is spread over two floors. There is a single step to get into the house from the front door into a narrow hallway. The lounge and dining room are open plan. The kitchen is a narrow width kitchen. There is a single step to get into the patio garden. There is no lift. There is no intercom system either, but I do have a doorbell camera. To access the bedrooms and bathroom, there is a narrow staircase that is curved at the top and has 16 steps. There is only one bathroom and it is upstairs with the bedrooms. The home is very neurodivergent friendly! Not scent free and not 420 friendly, I’m afraid. Not a party house though I would love to hang out with my flatmate from time to time.

*About the room*

It’s a double room with a large bay window. The room is furnished with a bed and mattress that has under-bed storage and a small chest of drawers. The office is unfurnished.

*About the tenancy*

You’ll be joining a new contract with me starting 1st July. The deposit is one month’s rent (£850) plus the first month’s rent. As per my landlord’s requirements, you’ll have to be employed in a permanent position (or self-employed for at least 12 months) and have an income of at least £12,700. You’ll need a reference from a previous landlord and go through a basic income check. The agency and landlord are very easy going. We’re allowed to decorate the house. The agency do visits every 6 months but these are mostly to check if anything needs repairing.

*About me and who I’m looking for*

I’m Frankie (they/them). I’m 29 and I work for a disability charity. I’m neurodivergent and disabled. I love reading, writing, gardening, clarinet, cold water swimming and big old walks. Unashamedly nerdy and not afraid to infodump about fun historical facts! You’ll often find me on a protest and I always have a ready supply of cardboard for signage. I love cooking and try to grow my own veg in the garden (this is a reach, last year I grew potatoes and now I think I’m Alan Titchmarsh or something). I’m noise sensitive and like a quiet, peaceful and cosy home. Big fan of lamps, never the big light. Teddy is my 5-year-old rescue cat who I adopted in February. He’s well trained, loving, bit mischievous. There’s no knowing just what lengths he’ll go to for a piece of cheese.

I’d love to find a flatmate who matches my vibe and likes a l quiet and peaceful home. I want our home to be a trans safe space that is anti-fascist and anti-racist. I’d love to decorate the house together with art and things. Someone who doesn’t mind a bit of cooking chaos would be great! I would also love to live with someone who can occasionally look after Teddy when I’m travelling or staying overnight at my girlfriend’s house.

*How to get in touch*

If you’re interested, I’d love to hear from you! please get in touch with me on here. When you message me, please tell me a bit about yourself and include your pronouns. If I’m slow to reply to your text, please don’t be disheartened. I can be
slow to text back as I am easily burnt out by messages. I can’t wait to hear from you and arrange viewings! :)
