My flatmate is making the most of some excellent life opportunities and so I’m putting the feelers out to see if there’s someone keen to join me in making this St Paul’s flat into a long-term home, starting end of Mar 2020 (with some flexibility to move in ~2weeks earlier)!

About the house:
3 bed/1 bathroom, privately let and recently refurbished flat with wooden floors throughout and a modern kitchen. It’s a bright house (even in winter!) has double-glazed sash windows and stupidly efficient central heating. It’s also super well-connected, with a 7 min walk to either the Overground (Canonbury) or Underground (Highbury & Islington). Upper St/Angel, with all its amazing shops/restaurants, is a 10 min walk away. The house is fundamentally furnished (slowly working on it) but any useful extra items would be appreciated.

The room itself is furnished with a king bed and a massive wardrobe - you probably could find Narnia. Bond would be £1800 in addition to one month’s rent in advance. You’ll also need a Right to Rent check information ready to go and a reference.
Bills are ~£220 per month but it includes everything: fibre wifi, power, gas, council tax, water rates, shared household items and a bi-weekly cleaner. This should go down in the near future (new house set up woes).

About me:
I’m a Kiwi/British hybrid working at a fintech company in Liverpool St and try to do a good job of keeping up with friends and family (while staying sane) and getting round to all my hobbies. At the moment, it’s figuring out the difference between mezcal and tequila (difficult when you’re on an impromptu, extended Sober October run). I am pretty easy-going and always up for a good laugh and use regular exercise to fuel my love of eating. My weekends are usually split between hanging out at home or out adventuring.
I also stereotypically follow the cliche of brunching/travelling/yoga-ing/ hiking but also enjoy Scrabble games, contemporary hip-hop and calligraphy so I feel like there’s a balance between being generic and individual.

As a flatmate, I am house-proud and keep a pretty clean environment (a BSc in Microbiology will teach you some things), will probably fold your laundry, definitely care about you and want to hear about your day, respect your space, and try to be consistently environmentally conscious. Phew.

Who I’m looking for:
Someone who’s up for joining me on some of my adventures and creating a wee community of two at home but also has an independent life of their own. While I do have a pretty active social life outside of home, I also have the quirky nana gene, meaning I tend to become somewhat reserved once I’m through the door. This is predominantly because I have a demanding job that requires a lot of people interaction and leave the extroversion outside the house. What this means is that it’s important you want to create a quiet sanctuary to recuperate from the hectic London pace and don’t tend to have people over often (your company is welcome enough!) or prefer the occasional low-key hangs, like having friends over for dinner.

A weekend might look like getting brunch or heading to the Broadway markets together or spend Friday/Saturday night in watching a movie. During the week, we might go to a show or cook dinner together and invest in a Netflix show or just respecting each other’s alone time…whatever balance we work out!
