I'll be jetting off across Europe and North Africa once my exams wrap up in May, which means I'll be looking to sublet my room from May 20th until September 1st.
The location:
The flat is practically a stone's throw away from Clapham Junction train station, the overground station, and the bus station. Getting into central London is a breeze, especially with the convenience of frequent night buses for those late-night adventures. Clapham Common tube station and Battersea Power Station are just a short bus ride away, roughly 10-15 minutes, and the bus stops are literally seconds from the front door. Battersea Park and Clapham Common are within walking distance, or if you prefer, a quick 10-minute bus ride or a leisurely 20-minute stroll.
Situated right on the lively high street, the area is well-lit and bustling with activity. You'll find a tempting array of eateries nearby, including a Korean restaurant, a delightful kebab shop, and a convenience store that stays open until the early hours at 2 am. If you're craving a pint, Wetherspoons is just a quick 2-3 minute walk away. Plus, you'll have everything you need right at your fingertips, with ASDA and Lidl just a 5-6 minute stroll away, not to mention the plethora of bars, shops, and restaurants waiting to be explored on Northcote Road and Lavender Hill.
The Clapham Junction area in general is quite gentrified, safe and there is always so much to do!!! I personally love this area- as someone that is lazy and a bit of a night-owl, it's so nice being close to so many late-night shops and restaurants that are seconds away from the front door.
The Flat:
The heart of the flat is a snug lounge/kitchen area, perfect for unwinding or whipping up a quick meal. You'll also have access to a shared bathroom complete with a bathtub and shower combo.
All bills are included in the rent price you pay.
The room:
Just like my will to live at times, it's small.
The room comes with a wardrobe, a drawer, a single bed and a bedside table. There is very little space left for anything else in the room. It's basically a box room that has been converted into a bedroom.
If you're like me and do not like spending too much time in their bedroom when they are not sleeping, then this should be a good deal for you.
Your flatmates:
Your flatmates will be two girls; a primary school teacher and a nurse.
You:
Anyone can be suitable; I have spoken with my flatmates, and there is a slight preference for a woman but not a must in any form.
Even though this is a short-term let for a few months, there is also a high probability for you to get a permanent residence (so instead of subletting from me, you will directly rent from the landlord with a year-long tenancy) if any of the flatmates decide they wish to move in mid-September, when the contract is up for renewal. If this option is on the table, you will be notified by me by July at the latest and will sign on as a primary tenant in September, and I will extend your sublet until you are onboarded as a primary tenant
If this sounds like a good place for you, please drop me a message, and we can sort out a meeting and a viewing soon!!
