My flatmate recently moved in with his girlfriend so I am looking for someone new to share our lovely 2-bed in Clapham South.
I'm Leila, a sporty, outdoorsy, 30 year old civil servant. I am out and about a lot, playing team sports and meeting friends, and I travel a good deal. I work from the office 2-3 days a week.
When I am home, I recharge, cook, read, attempt life admin, and enjoy hosting friends. Feeling at ease and comfortable in the home is really important for me, so I'd love to build a housemate relationship where we can talk about and help each other achieve what we each need from the space. I would be very open to sharing a meal here and there too.
The double bedroom is a good size with a large built-in wardrobe and space for a desk. There is a spacious, south facing living room with great light, comfy sofas, and lots of plants and books. My bedroom is at the other end of the flat to the living room and to what will be your bedroom. The kitchen is functional with lots of fridge space and a gas hob. There is a separate toilet and modern bathroom with a waterfall shower and bathtub. And we have a small patio, a cellar for storage, and a bike shed in the front garden.
The flat originally came unfurnished but my former housemate would be happy to leave bed/mattress for you if preferred. The furniture in the living room is mine so is here to stay!
The flat is on a quiet residential street that is extremely well connected to transport links and green spaces. It's an 8-10 minute walk from Clapham South tube station, a 15 minute walk to Balham tube and Overground, and a 5-7 minute walk to buses galore from e. g. Rudloe Road and Cathles Road.
There's a small park (Agnes Riley Gardens) at the end of our road, Clapham Common is a 10 minute walk, and Tooting Bec Common is a 15 minute walk. Sainsbury's, M&S, and a big Tesco all within 10-12 minutes walk.
The landlord is happy to approve a tenant with e. g. a cat or small-medium dog, subject to a professional clean taking place at the end of the tenancy. I would be very happy to have an animal in the space (I love animals) but I do occasionally look after my family's dog so would need to factor that in. Note the entrance to our patio (door with cat-flap) is via my bedroom.
Move in is available immediately. The current lease runs until 8 August 2026.
Bills roughly £150-170 a month.
