Hello! I’m looking for someone to move into the second room of a 2-bed flat in Clapton (Riverside Close). It’s a sunny flat directly on the canal and genuinely a lovely spot - especially heading into summer.
I’ve lived here for the past 3 years and really love it. I’m currently in the process of buying locally, so I’ll be finishing my lease here over the coming months. There may also be the option to take over the lease for the whole flat if you’d like to stay longer-term and find someone to share with.
The room:
Small double room
Bed and chest of drawers included
The flat is officially unfurnished, so I’ll be taking most of the shared furniture with me when I move (happy to chat about specifics nearer the time)
The flat:
The flat is right by the River Lea with direct access to a shared garden, which has a really special community feel - a bit of a hidden gem in East London.
This is very much a home, not a party flat. It’s where I come to decompress after work, so I’m looking for someone who’s on a similar vibe. It’s a relatively small space and sound travels a bit, so it would suit someone with a similar routine (i. e. not working regular night shifts).
That said, I’d love it to feel warm and social in a low-key way, think shared dinners, chats in the kitchen, or the occasional film night rather than parties or afters.
A bit about me:
I'm a 33 y/o queer non-binary person and I work full-time in youth work and social justice and really value a calm, friendly home environment. I’m an avid film watcher, so bonus points if you’re up for the occasional movie night - we can absolutely compare Letterboxd top 4s
I’m not a huge chef, so if you are, I will be extremely appreciative (and a great audience).
Timing / practical bits:
As mentioned, I’m in the process of buying locally, so there may be a bit of movement over the coming months. I’ll be as transparent as possible throughout, and there would be a minimum of 2 months’ notice if/when I move out.
Looking for someone who is:
Clean, considerate, and communicative
Happy living in a calm, respectful space
Up for the occasional hang but also values their own time
Prioritising queer folks!
If that sounds like a good fit, send me a message with a bit about yourself
