THE BLUE ROOM is in Hackney, London E5 (TFL travel zone 2) in a Victorian merchants’ villa that mixes historic original features with modern European design. The room offers a generous double BEDROOM and living space with double bed, three-metre high ceilings, original polished wood floors, Heals cherrywood wardrobe and tall chest of drawers, bay windows to the street, plus your own spacious ENSUITE with large window, shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet. The west-facing bedroom is on the first floor and is exceptionally light, with an open view of a quiet residential street. Also included is the use of a shared kitchen with fridge, microwave, hotplate, toaster, washer/dryer and ironing facilities, plus access to a rear roof terrace for dining and relaxing with views over mature gardens. Bills and regular cleaning of the room and kitchen are included.

This is one of two rooms we are letting in our home, which is also our workplace. Lodgers have their own bathrooms and share a small kitchen. The house has recently been refurbished inside and out and we are looking for someone who respects the house while enjoying quiet, clean beautiful surroundings. In return we offer a warm welcome. The room is offered under a Lodgers Licence Agreement.

Q: Is there a common living area?
A: Apart from the kitchenette and the roof terrace, there is no common living area. The Blue Room is generous, with an armchair, bed and a table and storage.

Q: Do you let to couples?
A: The room is designed for single occupants but guests are welcome for short stays.

Q: What storage space do you offer?
A: There is a tall chest of drawers as well as a wardrobe with more drawers. The bathroom has two cabinets and a storage trolley for toiletries. The kitchen has cupboards for food and crockery. There is also the possibility of long term storage in our dry cellar.

Q: Can I store my bicycle indoors?
A: Unfortunately, no. However, there is a Hackney Council Secure Bicycle Hanger opposite our home.
