Looking for a friendly housemate for a lovely flat

I have a lovely big double room available in a stunning garden flat within a period property in Crystal Palace. The room is super cozy, with a big comfy double bed, fitted wardrobes and a desk. It has a brand new mattress and bedding, ready for you to move in!

The apartment consists of a shared living / dining room with a big sofa, TV with Netflix, table perfect for dinner parties and lots of book shelf space. The modern fitted kitchen has all the appliances you could need, including a juicer and blender. There’s a modern bathroom with shower over the tub and a separate toilet. Two double bedrooms (one is mine, one is available). And the best part is it has an amazing big garden with a lawn and patio. Perfect for summer BBQs and playing with the dog!

There are excellent transport links nearby at Crystal Palace and Anerly stations, as well as off street parking for drivers. Crystal Palace triangle is walking distance, which is a mecca for cute cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques. We also have good supermarkets nearby, including Tesco, Aldi and Sainsbury’s. Plus, there’s lots of beautiful parks and lakes close by, so it is easy to escape the city and be with nature.

I am the only other tenant. I am not the owner, but I do consider this my home. It’s important to me that my future housemate respects the house and treats it as their home too, not just a place to sleep. It’s not a party house, more of a place to relax and enjoy your time away from work. That said, friends are always welcome for dinner and it is a very warm, easy going environment. I would like to find someone that is also looking for a stress-free house share, where we respect common areas and communicate well (no passive aggressive notes please!) There is a cleaner who comes weekly which certainly makes this easier.

I have a four-year-old, small mixed breed dog called Monkey. He is a rescue from Cambodia and I have had him since he was a puppy. He is house trained, quiet and very easy to live with. He will appreciate a cuddle or some play time in the garden. It is important to me that my future housemate is a dog person! Monkey likes to chase cats so we can’t have any cats in the house I’m afraid, but we could potentially have another dog, so if you are a dog owner let me know. Monkey is the sweetest boy, but he can have a little trouble making friends with other dogs, so they would need to meet first. If they get on, he would love the company.

A little about me… I have just returned to London after seven years living abroad. I’m still readjusting to life in England so it may take me a little time to figure things out again! I am a photojournalist / travel photographer, but since returning to London I am taking a small hiatus and doing some office work whilst considering continuing my studies in the future. I have a fairly busy work and social life with a big group of friends in South London, but I am always happy to meet new people too! I enjoy keeping fit, so I often spend my evenings at yoga classes, the local swimming pool or out walking my dog. If you’re someone that will join my yoga practice and keep me motivated that would be amazing. Bonus points if you can help me learn Spanish! I don’t drink or smoke, but I still enjoy a night out or a pub quiz and I love to cook and share my food.

The rent is £900, bills are not included and are divided equally. The room is available at the beginning of January (dates are flexible) and viewings can be arranged from December 29th. Everyone is welcome no matter which race, religion or sexuality you identify with.
