Looking for a woman 31+ in full time employment, for a bright, spacious, private, double room in a quiet close, just metres from the lively main street, with its great choice of cafés, restaurants, clubs etc. Easy access to central London via Dalston Kingsland station (6-7 minutes walk), Dalston Junction (10-12 minutes) and lots of buses. A short ride to the City and Liverpool Street station.
This is a three storey terraced house on the edge of a small, friendly estate. The house is light, clean, warm, comfortable and wonderfully quiet. There is a nice large kitchen / diner, which opens onto a small, sunny, garden patio. All rooms open off a central hall / staircase, so are very private.
The room is on the top floor (2nd), South West facing, sunny and quiet, with a 1.4 x 2m double bed, a large built in cupboard, desk and padded swivel chair. There is a bathroom, with shower, just next door and a second shower room on the ground floor. Both bathrooms are shared.
I have another room on the same floor, which has a Monday to Friday tenant. That room is also for when family / friends come to visit at weekends.
I am a youthful, middle aged yoga teacher / therapist. I'm friendly and sociable, enjoy a chat in the kitchen or a companion to go to the cinema with, but also like quiet, downtime and respect other people's need for it too. I am well used to sharing my home, both as a lodger and a landlady, and have made some lasting friends this way. I’m looking for a quiet, friendly, woman over 31, who has a full time job, preferably a non smoker, who will take care of the house and treat this as a home. My first housemate here stayed for 4 years and my most recent one for 2.5 years I have also had several short term lodgers. I would now really like someone who is looking for a long term home.
Rent is £750 pcm, payable by bank standing order. The deposit is one month's rent. Utility bills are included and we have a kitty for the household products that we agree to share. All is clearly stated in a rental agreement that we would both sign.
There is cable wi-fi and a household TV licence. You have the run of all communal areas in the house and the use of all kitchen equipment.
There is a space in a secure bicycle storage hangar for £30/year and you can apply for a permit to park in the private parking areas.
Dalston is a really great location and area to live in - a lively, interesting, friendly, ethnic mix. It is also well served with transport links. Within a few minutes walk there are lots of coffee shops, fantastic and reasonably priced restaurants, jazz clubs, a cinema, the Arcola Theatre, EartH arts venue, Ridley Road street market, lots of ethnic food shops, including some very good Turkish supermarkets, M&S, Co-op and a large Sainsbury’s, also a dry cleaners just at the end of our little street.
