We are delighted to offer this new Homeshare opportunity for someone to live comfortably and affordably in a lovely part of North London, in return for providing some practical support and companionship to an older lady.

Homeshare Location:
A 5-minute walk to the shops, cafes, and buzzy area of Muswell Hill, and 10 to 15 minute walk to East Finchley high street, and to the tube station (Northern Line).

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation, (£240 per month), we are looking to match our Homeowner with a friendly female Sharer who is happy to provide some practical support, a little companionship and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is permitted.

Our Homeowner is a bright and independent lady in her early 90’s, enjoying a quiet life at home. She was a teacher during her career and worked in child psychology until she retired. Her mobility is restricted but she gets around the house with a walker and stair lift, and and enjoys making herself some light meals. A carer comes four mornings a week and she has a regular cleaner.

She is looking to share her home with someone who can provide a bit of practical support for example with basic IT, helping with simple tasks such as keeping the kitchen tidy, picking up the post, reaching for things that are difficult for her, putting the bins out, and some local grocery shopping. She is quite happy spending her days by herself, pottering about, reading the paper and watching a bit of television, so this opportunity would suit somebody who is mostly working during the day. However having someone else in the home in the evenings would provide some reassurance to our Homeowner and her family that she is not alone at night.

Cost: £240 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the homeowner. Bills are included although you may need to make a small contribution to the homeowner towards energy bills and council tax.
