My lovely flatmate of several years is moving out, so a double room is available in our home.
It comes unfurnished, but there's a built in wardrobe and space for a double bed, shelves, a small desk etc. My flatmate is also looking to sell her bed and mattress to the incoming tenant if they're interested.
We have a modern kitchen with a dining table and plenty of space for cooking. There's also a separate living room, as well as a garden(!) which is a bit rough and tumble but is spacious and has a patio perfect for an evening meal or drink when the weather's nice. There's an upstairs bathroom with a shower, plus a toilet downstairs. There's plenty of storage throughout the house, and space to store a bike inside.
Victoria Park, London Fields and Hackney Marshes are all on our doorstep. And there's lots of coffee shops, bakeries, pubs, and restaurants within 10 minutes walk towards London Fields, Well Street, or Chatsworth Road. There's a Tesco superstore right around the corner too, and lots of other small shops nearby. The house is handy for all that, but still feels quiet and peaceful.
You'll be sharing with me - I'm 32, American, but I've lived in the UK for years. I work for a climate NGO, and I go into the office relatively often, but sometimes work from home too. I love going for walks around London, cooking up delicious veggie food, watching films, and going for a swim at the lido. Currently there is also a third tenant, Georgi, who is 26, Bulgarian, and works in catering. He is subletting the third small bedroom, and may move out at some point but with no timeline confirmed yet. So for the time being it would be a three person house (with bills split between three), but at some point that could change.
I'm friendly and sociable, but also respectful of others' space with a busy life. Currently we keep the home clean and peaceful, so I'm looking for someone similarly considerate, tidy and invested in making our house a home. Ideally looking for a woman or nonbinary person, late twenties or early thirties, who does not work from home full time.
Rent + bills: Rent is £750 pcm. Bills are additional. Currently split between three people gas, electricity, water, broadband are about £115 per person each month, depending on usage. Council tax is also additional (band D). If our third flatmate were to move out, then bills would be split between two, but rent would be unaffected since we have individual contracts with the landlord.
The room is available from the 1st of April on a 12 month contract. If this sounds like the place for you, send a message with some info about yourself and we can arrange a viewing. Looking forward to meeting you!
