Double ensuite room available in a modern, clean, and quiet flat in beautiful leafy Highbury, available from September.
The room:
The room is a spacious and sunny double. It comes with a built-in wardrobe with lots of hanging and storage space, plus a large dresser (optional). There is also plenty of space for a desk or other furniture. The window looks onto a quiet garden with an abundance of foliage, making the room a peaceful place to relax or work from home year-round. It comes with its own private ensuite, equipped with a large shower, toilet/sink, heated towel rail, and under floor heating (a dream in the winter!), plus lots of shelf space.
The flat:
The flat is a 2-bed, 2-bath unit on the second (middle) floor of a small apartment building right next to Highbury Fields. There is a large living/dining space (furnished) which looks out onto a small but gloriously sunny private patio. There is a large adjoining kitchen with ample storage space (including pantry shelves), a washer-dryer, and a dishwasher. I am also slowly growing my own collection of kitchen gadgets which you would be very welcome to share.
Location:
One of the best things about the flat! It is located directly next to leafy Highbury Fields, but tucked away enough from the main street to be quiet year-round. Transport links are excellent - we're a 5 minute walk from Highbury & Islington station (Victoria line, Overground, Great Northern) and 10 minutes from Holloway Road (Piccadilly line). The apartment building has a secure bike shed, as well as a car park for residents. Islington Central Library (with a beautiful large study/work space) is just around the corner, and we're also surrounded by independent coffee shops, fruit & veg shops, pubs, yoga studios etc. Larger green spaces, including Clissold Park and Finsbury Park, are just a short walk/cycle/run away.
Bills:
The room is £1175 per month, bills not included. Bills usually come to around £125 per month in total.
About me:
I'm 29, from Scotland, and work in academia (philosophy). I moved to London last year after living in Philadelphia for 5 years while studying for my PhD. In my free time I enjoy running, yoga, reading, and exploring the various parks and museums of London. I'm vegan and would love to live with a fellow veggie person, but am also very happy to live with non-veg people (and have done so for several years in the past). I value living in a clean, friendly, communicative and respectful space, and would love to live with someone who feels the same.
I have really enjoyed staying in this quiet and peaceful flat over the past year, and since my current flatmate is moving into her own place at the end of our tenancy, I'm looking to find someone ready to sign the lease for another year. The room will be available from early September. Individuals preferred but I'm also open to living with the right couple.
Send me a message if you would like to find out more or arrange a viewing :)
