Hey Folks!
We currently have a double room up for grabs in our excellent houseshare in the very lovely Highbury (N5) area!
THE ROOM:
The room is very cosy and comes furnished with a double bed, two built in wardrobes, chest of drawers (located in one of the aforementioned wardrobes), a beside cabinet and a desk (perfect for the current working from situation we have all found ourselves in). It’s located on the second floor with a south-facing window, which gets all the morning (and a good part of the afternoon) sun-light.
THE HOUSE:
The house itself is a well looked after 3 storey townhouse with bright and spacious communal areas including a large open living room / kitchen. There are two bathrooms with two of us sharing one each, so that everyone is not fighting over the one bathroom! I have inserted the bathroom, which I have used over the course of my three year tenure in the house. There is also a small balcony, which again is south facing and is perfect for enjoying coffee / breakfast in the morning sun.
We also have a cleaner that comes every other week to clean the communal areas but we all keep the property looking well. It is a home after all!
THE HOUSEMATES:
A couple of Irish ladies and one Dutchman make up the motley crew you will be joining. All working professionals, we have a lawyer, doctor and investment manager. They are all a joy to hang out with, whether it be trips to the pub or especially if you are in mood for some quality reality TV - Married at First Sight Australia, Below Deck, Indian Matchmaker - you name it, we probably watch it!
We do of course respect each other’s personal space, so having large living spaces, as well as generous bedroom sizes, more than allows for this.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
The house is conveniently located off the main street in Highbury Barn with four buses (4, 19, 236, 263) one minute walk away and Highbury and Islington (Victoria line/overground), Arsenal (Piccadilly line), Canonbury, Drayton Park and Finsbury Park stations are all within 15 minutes walk (or less than 5 minutes with a bus!). It's a really quiet road and the walk to Highbury station through Highbury Fields is a pleasant way to start the day! There are plenty of local shops, pubs and restaurants in the area too!
THE MONEY / LEASE:
Rent is £977 per calendar month and the deposit £1,205. Bills are included in the price, which includes council tax, water, energy, broadband, the cleaner and a kitty for house supplies.
The property/lease is now managed directly by the landlord, who is great! He is always on hand to fix any issues we have and is quick to resolve them. It also means no agency fees when coming onboard, winner!
AVAILABILITY:
The room is currently available, so very flexible on dates. We of course realise these are far from normal times, however current government rules allow for people to physically view and move houses. We are relatively relaxed about viewings and work normal hour weeks, with the majority of us currently working from home, hopefully we can arrange viewing times to suit.
